In the current time of writing, there are near to limitless amounts of media to absorb. You have your books, comics, television shows, music, movies, internet videos, social networks, and many more I cannot think of. People have been creating things throughout time and they continue to create this very second. The amount of time it would take to digest it all seems to be infinite multiplying onto itself. Considering the daily work needed to maintain a healthy body, portions within the day turn from two hours into thousands of hours of potentially reading, watching, or listening to something. Let me tell you about some times I was conflicted by the endless choices. With some reading material, the decisions are endless with reading books, comic books, manga, or visual novels. You can go for something meaningful with a biography/autobiography of a notably real person, the visually wordy adventures of a caped crusader, a black and white story of friends living out their daily school life, or making new friends in mostly static images. What you can read is not just limited to words. All of these options were pretty enticing at the moment of their discovery. What I did not know was that these many options were eventually put on a growing backlog. The reasons are many some of which include the realization of its' lengthy time commitment. The piece of media may also hit a moment that be unsavory and may cause me to leave it for a period of time. After picking something else up, the book may be forgotten and only recognized when I have finished something else. This usually happens with series that would release a new entry every month or some period of time. For example, I may be reading a 500-page book that would take me two weeks to finish. While periodically picking up and putting it down, the book may be challenged by a new contender. A comic book with fewer pages and visual content to describe background through images instead of words. Why should I not take this quick trip through comic book land? After a refreshing break through that mysterious comic book land, I go out to search for something else to read. Hold a moment there, buddy. You have that book you left behind to read that comic, you should finish reading that book. I would then say, "I can always come back to it later." I proceed to find something else and completely forget about the original book for a few months.
